The new regulation of photovoltaic feed-in tariffs in Italy has been approved and published today by the Ministers Council. Accordingly, the new regulation of solar energy promotion valid from the 01 of June will be limited to the end of year at 300 million €. This corresponds to a photovoltaic capacity of approx. 1,200 MW.
For the coming year, expenditure on feed-in tariffs are fixed in the first half to 150 million € and in the second half of 2012 are capped at 130 million €. This is in line with the new legislative regulation to a total installed power capacity of 2,690 MW. In addition, provision is made for new installations, including roof integrated plants , not exceed 1 MW.
To be evaluated as positive, is the fact that the government has decided to extend current feed-in tariffs until 31 August 2011, and not as originally planned only until late May. At present it is unclear to what percentage the future feed-in tariffs will be reduced in detail.
